Hannah Lewis

My primary research interest includes promoting positive body image as a protective factor against the development of negative coping mechanisms such as eating pathologies and self-harm as well as integrating body image education into national health and education policy.

I have a particular interest in public mental health and prevention, believing that this starts with mental health education amongst children and young people.

Qualification: MSc Cultural and Global Perspectives in Mental Health Care

Amal Issa

As an Assistant Psychologist in the NHS, I facilitate a mood management group for patients; building on the CBT model we explore the linkages between thoughts, feelings and actions and their ability to affect an individual’s mood. The success of this group is reliant on my extremely good communication skills and my ability to remain non-judgemental whilst guiding patients through personal scenarios contributing to their low mood. Here I witnessed how crucial group therapy can be in empowering individuals in their recovery.

After many years of working alongside children and young people and learning more about mental health, I am now looking to embark on a new challenge.

Qualification: MSc Foundations of Clinical Psychology Masters

Jaylan Sesli

Qualification: BSc Psychology with Cognitive Neuroscience (ongoing)
